Director's Bio

I love to film stories that put humanity on display. My goal with each film is to help the viewer see themselves in the soul of another, and to help them see that we are so much more alike than we are different. My hope is that by opening even a small crack in the viewer's perspective, the world can change for the better.
 

In 'Seeds of Change', I explore what it will take to heal the pain of racism in this country.  My hope is that the story will allow the audience to empathize which will subsequently lead to understanding.
 

I love all aspects of filmmaking including cinematography, editing, writing, visual effects and producing.  My passion, however, lies in directing.  Being an actor in Chicago for 10 plus years gives me an immense amount of insight on how to communicate with actors (and non-actors) to achieve natural, honest performances.  I truly enjoy helping actors access their true potential. 
 

How Racism has Impacted Me

Racism is one of the most unsettling things you can ever experience. It leaves you shocked to your core.  It leaves you feeling isolated and disconnected and makes you question, even if for a brief moment, your worth.

My experiences with racism have also left me with a lack of clarity about who I can and cannot trust.  Those who have a problem with me because of the color of my skin can easily identify me, the target of their anger and hatred, because of the color of my skin.  I, on the other hand, am unable to identify them as clearly.  This leaves me questioning my safety quite often.



    A black person grows up in this country  knowing that racism will be as familiar      as salt to the tongue. Also, it can be as dangerous as too much salt.
